Caritas

Caritas Australia helps people help themselves — regardless of race, religion or political beliefs.  They support long-term development programs in impoverished communities in Africa, Asia, East Timor, Latin America, Indigenous Australia and the Pacific - helping oppressed people to rediscover their dignity by taking greater control over their lives and overcoming poverty.

Also, the Caritas network is ready to respond whenever a natural disaster or crisis occurs. The Caritas Internationalis Confederation is one of world’s largest disaster response and development networks with a presence in over 200 countries.  The confederation enables Caritas Australia to provide assistance to people affected by disaster quickly and effectively.  

Caritas Australia works hard to make sure that as much aid as possible actually reaches those who need it.
