Estates, Bequests

Charities rely on bequests or gifts in wills as a vital source of their income and without such income many charities would not exist.   Research indicates that only 7.5% of Australians over the age of 60 leave a charitable gift in their will. Of course your loved ones come first, but if you'd like to also include ShareGift in your will, you are able to do so.  There are four main types of gifts you can choose to leave:

  1. Residual:
The remainder of your estate after considering your loved ones.
  2. Percentage or fractional:
A gift expressed as a percentage or fraction of your estate.
  3. Pecuniary or Specific:
A specified gift which can be money or stocks and shares.
  4. Whole estate:
This comprises your entire estate and is usually left by those without beneficiaries or those wanting to achieve something very significant.
