Share Registration

How do I register shares when I purchase?

There are registry standards which govern the way in which shareholdings must be registered.  These standards apply regardless of whether the holding is Broker Sponsored or Issuer Sponsored.

A holders registration details constitute 6 lines x 30 characters inclusion of spaces and any punctuation required.

Holdings cannot be registered in a business name, a deceased person, a minor, a fund or a trust fund.

A joint holding does not allow more than 3 individuals. Individuals names in joint holdings must be separated by a +

Company names may use legally accepted abbreviations e.g. Pty Ltd, Ltd, Co.

Account designations must end in A/C and be enclosed in angle brackets

Space restrictions will sometimes mean that abbreviations will be required.  A comprehensive list of these abbreviations is available on www.sraa.com.au

Below is a sample of a joint holding with abbreviations.
