Wesfarmers and ShareGift Australia are proud to offer a charitable giving option as part of the scheme of arrangement for the demerger of Coles.
How does it work?
If the demerger proceeds and subject to necessary approvals, an eligible shareholder will be entitled to one Coles share for every Wesfarmers share held at the record date.
The charitable facility offered under this arrangement offers eligible shareholders of 160 Wesfarmers shares or fewer the option to sell the Coles shares they would otherwise be entitled to receive through a Coles sales facility, free of any brokerage costs or stamp duty, and donate the proceeds to ShareGift. ShareGift will issue tax receipts to participating shareholders on confirmation of funds received.
The aggregated sale proceeds donated to ShareGift under this arrangement will be distributed to eligible Australian charities, following the completion of the demerger.
Wesfamers and Coles have nominated the charities, SecondBite and RedKite to ShareGift.
How do I participate?
Full details of the Coles sale facility are included in the scheme booklet sent to all Wesfarmers shareholders.
